The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education (WCGME) is an independent, non-profit educational institution for graduate medical education in the Scranton, Pa. area. Founded in 1976 as the Scranton Temple Residency Program, WCGME has grown significantly over the decades and is now the region’s main source of highly-qualified and trained primary care physicians in the area.

We offer internal medicine, osteopathic and cardiologic graduate training programs taught by 14 core
faculty physicians, 105 ancillary team members and the teaching expertise of more than 100 Scranton
region physicians.

WCGME provides graduate medical education programs at Moses Taylor Hospital, Regional Hospital of Scranton and Community Medical Center, the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Wilkes-Barre and 2 regional FQHC’s. Through the Wright Center Medical Group, WCGME also operates three community medical centers that serve as in-the-field training facilities for residents.

We are dedicated to providing the best graduate medical training available and WCGME also places great emphasis on community involvement and service. We are proud to be at the forefront of improving and transforming healthcare delivery to Northeastern Pennsylvania.
